Welcome!
I designed this site as a tool for educators to
use in their own practice. With the recent push to include reading instruction
in all classrooms, it has become increasingly important that non-Language Arts
teachers know strategies to increase their students’ comprehension. In this
resource, I have included an introduction to content literacy: what it is, why
we need it, and why you haven’t tried it before. I also offer some tips on how
to begin integrating this concept in your curriculum. Finally, and most importantly,
I have gathered a wide variety of strategies that cover the scope of
the reading process. Be sure to check out my "Further Reading" and "References Used." My hope is that you will use this source as a starting point for your own
content literacy exploration. Thanks for reading!
